Late Fringe Web Exclusive Interview with Director Akram Shibly

WSKG Arts new series Late Fringe is dedicated to showcasing the work of talented directors from New York State and this Web Exclusive has host Phil Westcott chatting with filmmaker Akram Shibly. Akram’s politically charged films are featured in the third episode of Late Fringe and he discusses how he was able to film inside a Syrian refugee camp and the ideas he is trying to convey with his close-up style of filmmaking. In addition to discussing his films, Akram also describes the role the media has in framing the public’s opinion of world affairs and why Binghamton is a great place to make movies.
