Downtown Singers Perform Mendelssohn's 'Elijah'

The Downtown Singers present Felix Mendelssohn’s oratorio ‘Elijah’ for their Spring Concert.  Marisa Crabb leads a chorus of almost one hundred singers, along with orchestra and five soloists for this very dramatic and tuneful choral work.  Soprano Mary Burgess and baritone Timothy LeFebvre talk about their experiences singing this very popular oratorio, and about their experiences singing with the Downtown Singers. http://wskg.org/audio/Elijah.mp3

The Downtown Singers and the Binghamton Philharmonic Present Handel's 'Messiah'

The Downtown Singers and the Binghamton Philharmonic perform Handel’s oratorio ‘Messiah’ on Saturday, December 17 at 7:30 in the Forum in downtown Binghamton. Marisa Crabb leads the ensemble in this 34-year tradition. Hundreds of Singers Gather on Binghamton's Riverwalk

SingBing invites singers for a mass chorus to sing ‘All You Need is Love’ at the Peacemakers Stage on the Riverwalk in Downtown Binghamton on First Friday before the sun goes down and the LUMA Projection Arts Festival begins.  Organizers Marie McKenna and Gregory Keeler talk about getting as many singers as possible to celebrate September’s First Friday. The annual performance of Handel's "Messiah" by the Downtown Singers returns to the Forum

The Downtown Singers have been presenting Handel’s Messiah since 1983. This year they are collaborating with the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra for their annual performance under the baton of Marisa Crabb, now in her third year of conducting the group.  They welcome soloists Brenda Dawe, Kasey Stewart, Carlos Santelli, and Timothy LeFebvre for a performance on Saturday, December 19th at 7:30 in the Forum on Washington Street in downtown Binghamton. http://wskg.org/audio/marisamessiah.mp3
