Despite Conflicting Claims, It’s Unclear Who’s Really Ahead In GOP Primary

HARRISBURG, PA (WSKG) — In the midst of releasing negative, personal campaign ads, GOP gubernatorial candidates Paul Mango and Scott Wagner are also clashing over their own poll numbers. However, too little information is ultimately available to assess where the primary race stands with potential voters. Wagner recently released results from an internal poll by the conservative research firm McLaughlin and Associates, showing he holds a nearly 27-point lead. Mango countered with surveys that show a closer race, including one from Susquehanna Polling and Research that had Wagner with just a three-point lead. The full results aren’t public.

15 Statewide Court Seats Open In Pennsylvania Election

HARRISBURG (WSKG) — Tuesday’s election may be in an off-year, but that doesn’t mean it won’t have statewide implications.  The highest-profile race is for a seat on the state Supreme Court, and seats are also open on the Superior and Commonwealth courts. Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court leans heavily Democratic right now, with a 5 to 2 majority. The Republican candidate, Sallie Mundy, currently holds one of those seats and is seeking a full 10-year term. She was appointed as an interim justice by Governor Tom Wolf last year. Her opponent is Democrat Dwayne Woodruff–a Pittsburgh family court judge and former NFL player with the Steelers.
