The Downtown Singers of Binghamton present ‘A Concert of Hope and Peace’ featuring music by Sir Charles Hubert Hastings Parry, Sir Edward Elgar, and Sir Michael Tippett.
The Binghamton Downtown Singers present their annual performance of George Frederic Handel’s ‘Messiah’.
The Downtown Singers, led by Kristina Ruffo, present their Spring Concert. This year it features the music of Johannes Brahms. We hear from conductor Kristina Ruffo about the works, as well soloists Timothy LeFebvre, Michelle Thompson, and Erik Thompson.

The Phelps Mansion Museum present a concert in memory of Harold Manker. Lance G. Hill talks about Harold’s legacy of re-making the Phelps Mansion into a vibrant center for the arts.
The Downtown Singers present Felix Mendelssohn’s oratorio ‘Elijah’ for their Spring Concert. Marisa Crabb leads a chorus of almost one hundred singers, along with orchestra and five soloists for this very dramatic and tuneful choral work. The Downtown Singers and the Binghamton Philharmonic perform Handel’s oratorio ‘Messiah’ on Saturday, December 17 at 7:30 in the Forum in downtown Binghamton. Marisa Crabb leads the ensemble in this 34-year tradition. Soloists include soprano Stacey Geyer, mezzo-soprano Ivy Walz, tenor Dinyar Vania, and baritone Timothy LeFebvre. http://wskg.org/audio/1215messiah.mp3

Tri-Cities Opera is presenting Giuseppe Verdi’s ‘La Traviata’ in one performance on Sunday, October 16 in the Forum in downtown Binghamton. Director David Lefkowich talks about the non-traditional staging of the opera, with the orchestra onstage. Baritone Timothy LeFebvre, who spent twenty years with TCO as a student and then as a resident artist, returns to Binghamton for the role of Giorgio Germont, a role he first sang with Tri-Cities Opera. Also returning to Binghamton is Meroe Khalia Adeeb in the role of Violetta. http://wskg.org/audio/Traviata.mp3

The Downtown Singers have been presenting Handel’s Messiah since 1983. This year they are collaborating with the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra for their annual performance under the baton of Marisa Crabb, now in her third year of conducting the group. They welcome soloists Brenda Dawe, Kasey Stewart, Carlos Santelli, and Timothy LeFebvre for a performance on Saturday, December 19th at 7:30 in the Forum on Washington Street in downtown Binghamton. http://wskg.org/audio/marisamessiah.mp3
