In New York, youth suicide deaths went up after lockdowns were lifted. But unlike the U.S. as a whole, New York's numbers are still lower than they were before the pandemic.

"Genuinely, I do believe that the death, the bullying, all that could have been prevented," said AJ Wilt, a student at Union-Endicott High School.

"Now every time we see it rain, or flood warning, we get scared and we flee our house."
