Delgado had been running for re-election against Republican Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro.

Molinaro, who currently serves as Duchess County Executive, was entertaining a second run for governor in 2022, but later joined other Republicans endorsing Rep. Lee Zeldin (NY-01) for that race.

Although the Congressional maps for 2022 aren’t determined yet, 2020 candidate Kyle Van De Water says he is running again.

Fourteen of the state’s nineteen Congressional Democrats also released statements calling on the governor to resign Friday.

The Congress Members are heading to the border Friday to see conditions at U.S. detention camps.
