New York Secretary of State Walter Mosley was in Binghamton Thursday to announce the city will receive $10 million in state funding to revitalize Clinton St. in the First Ward neighborhood. The villages of Bath and Dryden were also both awarded $4.5 million.

Dryden Fiber, an internet provider created by the town in Tompkins County to reach customers in rural areas, will receive nearly $9 million.

Small towns in the county have struggled with broadband access for years. Now local governments are stepping up to provide residents with internet access.

Reed said that nuclear energy has to be part of the transition away from fossil fuels even with its risks.

"Our improvements in management which includes feeding and housing and veterinary care, disease control...we’ve been able to control infectious diseases to a greater extent than ever before."
