A bill aimed at curbing youth e-cigarette use in New York that was passed as part of the state budget last week will mean stark changes for vape retailers."

There’s new guidance from the federal Centers for Disease Control about what to do with people injured by e-cigarette use after their release from the hospital.

“I can not sit back and allow this to continue to occur in the state of New York. Particularly after the death of a young person in the Bronx that was due to vaping.”

The vaping-related respiratory illness that has sickened over 1,800 people across the nation, including 156 New Yorkers, and caused 38 deaths.

“We find, unfortunately, that even some of the younger students are vaping, and it seems like it’s something that’s going to continue to grow as a problem.”

The research challenges electronic cigarette industry claims about health risks the devices pose.

The teen was previously hospitalized in early September with a vaping-associated respiratory illness. He was re-admitted to the hospital in late September and passed away on October 4.

The New York State Health Department has decided to put off a ban on menthol-flavored nicotine vaping products until a court case challenging an earlier ban on other flavored e-cigarettes is resolved.

The shop now offers over 100 flavors, but with the new ban it will only be able to sell eight.

"I had this lady that comes in that’s probably 72, 73 years old. She’s tried everything on the market multiple times. She says that she hasn’t had a single day without a cigarette until she found vaping."
