U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) traveled to Greater Good Grocery in Binghamton to announce legislation increasing federal funding for grocery stores in food deserts.

Conklin residents say they are shocked one of their own is the suspect of the shooting in Buffalo. But some Black residents in nearby Binghamton are less surprised.

"We want this for people especially with the food prices raising," said General Manager Kinya Middleton. "This will definitely stretch someone’s budget."

“Forty-five percent of the people that shop here at the Greater Good grocery are on SNAP benefits. This will benefit a whole ton of people on the North Side of Binghamton.”
