During his State of the Union address Thursday night, President Joe Biden highlighted job growth, dropping inflation rates, and investments in infrastructure and local economies. In Binghamton, a group of residents and activists gathered to watch the speech.

Democrats, already anxious about President Joe Biden's reelection prospects, are seeking to downplay revelations that the president's son has entered into a plea deal with federal prosecutors over tax offenses and a gun charge.

"Joe Biden has rightfully earned the title of being the projected president-elect and that should be recognized," Rep. Reed said.

"We also need to do a whole lot of work in the coming years to make sure we are building a truly equitable and just democracy," said one of the rally organizers, Joanna Green.
