Most of those deaths are from opioids, more specifically, fentanyl.

A month in, The Turning Point recovery and community center in Oneonta is distributing as much naloxone in a day as they used to in a week.

The Southern Tier region will receive about $4.8 million from the settlement in 2022. The initial payout on Tuesday totaled about $759,000 for the region.
