The report from the New York attorney general’s office recommended disciplinary action for a Binghamton police officer who knelt on a man’s neck for over a minute during an arrest in January 2023. Attorneys for the city called the investigation a “one-sided narrative with tunnel vision.”

"When we have residents coming back from treatment and ending up in the same housing they left we’re not assisting them in staying in recovery," said Rebecca Kaufman, Director of the Broome County Department of Health.
