If the budget is not adopted by Monday, 39,000 state workers, many in health care and correctional facilities, may see their April 8 paychecks delayed.

The legislature is proposing $7 billion dollars in new taxes on the wealthy and corporations, and $4 billion dollars more in school aid.

“If parents are going to have to go to work and the kids are at home, that’s just an absolute nightmare."

“So, let's hope that by August 1, this will have been resolved."
