Della Pia is running as the Republican in the special election to fill out the term for New York’s current 23rd Congressional District. His Republican opponent is Joe Sempolinski.

Reed is leaving the House to join a Washington lobbying firm, Prime Policy Group.

Reed touted his work to promote bipartisan consensus building in Congress, but he also painted a grim picture of the growing hyperpartisanship and cynicism he has witnessed on Capitol Hill.

Southern Tier Rep. Tom Reed said he wants more humanitarian and military aid for Ukraine, which could include a deployment of American troops.
