Support WSKG on One Day Wednesday–and help keep our community warm

You’ve come to rely on WSKG for news, information and music programing that touches your heart and mind. WSKG is your Public Media Station.

On October 19th, 2016, WSKG celebrates One Day Wednesday. We’ve significantly reduced the amount of time we spend on air asking for your support. Because of this, your contribution is more important than ever.

WSKG Socks

This fall, we’re also working to help some of our neighbors in need. Through our reporting and outreach efforts, we’ve learned that many people in our community don’t have access to a clean, dry and warm pair of socks during the winter. They seem like a small thing, but socks can mean the difference between life and death for some people.

That’s why, for every $20 contribution, Guthrie will donate a pair of winter socks to the United Way of Broome County. Your gift to WSKG will also help the men, women and children who need assistance in the counties served by WSKG Public Media.

Why the United Way of Broome County? The United Way has a distribution network that ensures the socks go directly onto the feet of the people who need them. The agency has graciously agreed to distribute socks to other United Way affiliates in our service area. They then will deliver the socks directly to shelters, missions and food pantries. The socks will never be sold–they’ll only go to where they are most needed.

We believe that public media is responsible for serving our community. We work together each day to provide quality entertainment, in depth news and educational programming. Help us meet our goal on One Day Wednesday and you’ll also help our neighbors stay warm this winter.

Thank you so much for your support!
