Giving Tuesday is a global social event that follows the widely recognized shopping occasions Black Friday and Cyber Monday. #GivingTuesday, November 28, will be a day unlike those buying-oriented days right after Thanksgiving. It’s a way to kick off the charitable season–the season of giving.
It’s a day dedicated to getting involved in your local community. Whether it’s a donation of your time, money, or voice, we hope everyone will take part and give towards the organizations that are changing the community for the better.
What’s Our Goal?
Our idea is simple. We want to get as many people involved in our viewing and listening area as possible (and we know there’s a lot of you out there). We’re speaking to the people of Elmira, Binghamton, Corning, Ithaca, Cooperstown, Hornell, and many more in between. The #GivingTuesday event is a time to harness the collective power of individuals, organizations, and communities to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.
In addition to asking people to financially support WSKG’s educational outreach programs, we’ll also be using our signal to boost other local charities on social media.
