Victoria Young

At a young age, Victoria Frances Young has already performed in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Steinway Hall in New York City. In 2011, she was awarded a $10,000 Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award in conjunction with her performance on NPR’s From the Top.Victoria made her orchestral debut at age six with the Nevada Chamber Symphony and made her international solo debut at ten in Dominican Republic. In January 2013 she won the grand prize in the 40th Midland-Odessa Symphony National Young Artists Competition. In March, Victoria won the Special Jury Prize in the 8th J.S. Bach International Piano Competition in Würzburg, Germany—competing with pianists up to 36 years old.Victoria has performed extensively in the United States and Europe. In 2012, the CEO of From the Top presented her at the E.G. Conference. Her recent performances include a solo recital for the Spanish American Music Council’s concert series in New York City, and “Summer Music” presented by Chicago’s New Music School in Elmhurst, IL. Her next performance will bring her to San Francisco to inaugurate Community Music Center’s new performance series “Emerging Young Artist Spotlight”. She will also be the featured pianist in WFMT Impromptu this September.Victoria is currently in the Fellows Program at the New Music School Chicago studying with Mary Sauer, the principal pianist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
