Watch Live: PBS President Paula Kerger Presents on the Impact of Public Media

The White House’s proposed budget would cause major cuts to public media funding (among other programs). In light of this proposal, PBS President Paula Kerger will be in Detroit for a presentation to members of the Detroit Economic Club (DEC) on the impact of public media in America on Friday, March 24.

The presentation be streamed live online when it begins at 12:30 a.m.

PBS currently stands as one of America’s most trusted news sources. Kerger plans to share this and many more insights into how PBS plans to remain a valued and innovative force in a constantly changing media landscape. She will also discuss how PBS is working with stations, like WSKG, to close the achievement gap by expanding educational resources for teachers and children.

Tune into her live presentation Friday, March 24 at 12:30 a.m. right here:

WSKG’s President and CEO, Greg Catlin, also issued a letter about why public media matters to local communities and how this cut in federal funding would impact our station. If you’d like to speak out against these budget cuts, consider signing the petition at Protect My Public Media.
