Sip and Swirl

Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, WSKG’s morning classical music host and winemaking aficionado Bill Snyder visits nine vineyards in the region and discusses the area’s unique viticulture while sipping some of the most delicious wines, spirits, and ciders. Bill explains not only the mysteries of the ancient process and the passion of the people behind it, but also informs the viewers about some of the most innovative technologies and progressive, sustainable practices that take place in these vineyards.

Sip and Swirl with Bill Snyder is a series of nine, three-minute segments that tells the collective stories of the people and winemaking culture that compose the unique terroir of the Finger Lakes region in Upstate New York.

The Finger Lakes region has increasingly gained national and international recognition for its outstanding bottlings. The videos journey to nine wineries that, together, encompass a unique history of vinification, varietals, processes, and techniques – starting from the harvest of the grape to the final product swirling in a glass.

Featured wineries and vineyards:

Cayuga Lake’s Six Mile Creek Vineyard
Montezuma Winery
Bellwether Hard Cider

Keuka Lake’s Bully Hill Vineyards
Pleasant Valley Wine Company
Hunt Country Vineyards
Seneca Lake’s Damiani Wine Cellars
Wagner Vineyards
Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards

In addition to a showcase of winemaking techniques and unique culture, the show expands its presentation to some of the region’s most dynamic brewery industries and distilleries. It illustrates how, over the years, the Finger Lakes region has become a vital area of economic growth for its highly sought-after home-grown products and as a popular tourist destination.
