    CANTON, NY (NCPR) — New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is proposing new legislation she says will get baby formula to families quickly as the US faces a shortage. Speaking to reporters Wednesday, the Democrat said the bill would lift some restrictions on importing baby formula from the E.U, Canada, the U.K., and Japan, which could get more products on shelves within a week after the bill is signed.

    Following the mass shooting at a grocery store in a predominantly Black neighborhood of Buffalo, N.Y., investigators say they are looking into a document published online filled with rants about race and the "replacement" theory. The 180-page document, which was allegedly crafted by the Buffalo gunman, included parts lifted from other sources, according to an NPR analysis.

  • Governor addresses twin crises of white nationalism and access to military grade weapons

    ALBANY, NY (WSKG) - Four days after the mass shooting at a supermarket in a Black neighborhood in Buffalo that killed 10 people and injured three, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced several steps to curb the growing number of extreme acts of violence motivated by racial hatred. Hochul said the measures will counteract what she calls the intersection of two major crises in New York and the nation: the rise of white supremacist beliefs and too-easy access to military-style weapons.
